Mission Log #1

How It Works
Welcome to the first mission log in Annexed!
How Mission Logs Work: There will generally be two main missions per month, with different focuses tailored to different skillsets (usually stealth vs. fighting, though other skillsets will be tapped on). Each mission will be posted in phases, with a prompt for the start of each phase. The plotting post will give you a rundown of what the missions are, how they might go, and what might be discovered. Characters may partake in whichever pat of the operation they choose, whether it's a large prominent part or a more supporting role. Characters may participate in both missions, and as many phases as they wish.
Mod Guidance: Players may request occasional scene-setting when they hit a point where they're unsure what might happen next in a log or what their characters might encounter. There will be a "Mod Guidance" comment that players can reply to in order to request this kind of scene-setting.
Completion of Missions: There will be a submissions comment for anyone who's threaded out a portion of the mission. Once a thread has been completed at least halfway, please submit your character's progress and plans for the thread to the submissions thread. These submissions are the main way that the mod will decide how the mission went in the next month's wrap-up post, so they are very important!
Plotting Post: Here!
The Cure For Immunity
The Witches have received intel through their spies in Zephyr that a lab located just outside the outskirts of the city is engaged in experiments on sentient beings to create a serum that will change those people who are incompatible with Sylphid reproduction. This serum would allow the Sylphid to take over the bodies of people who would usually be fatal to them.
The serum is said to function at a 45% success rate already.
Obviously this would be a major blow to all life on the Broken World, as 70% of the population is immune to being taken over by Sylphid. This serum would allow them to increase their population numbers exponentially and turn a powerful takeover into a nigh-unstoppable one.
The Witch will be calling a general meeting at the Command Center where she will explain the situation and the proposed missions to stop it.
Mission A: Into the Lab
Mission Appropriateness: Chipped or Stripped
Mission Focus: Stealth and recon.
This mission will focus on stealth and recon, with operatives conducting surveillance on the lab to work out the rounds of the guards and other staff so they can infiltrate and take the information on the Sylphid serum in order to reverse engineer it and hopefully make a serum to make everyone immune to Sylphid takeover. The Witch passionately states in her opening speech that this would be an immense blow against the Sylphid and is a very important mission.
Nestled in the jungle a few blocks outside city limits is a low cement building with a high barbed-wire-topped chain-link fence around it. The lab is built like a fortress with thick walls, very few windows, and a thick roof made of cement and tile, almost bomb-proof. All in all, the Sylphid aren't exactly subtle, the place might as well scream 'secret lab to create top-secret serums.' There's also a regular round of security guards accompanied by guard dogs that make their way around the perimeter, and security cameras at every entrance and exit.
There is plenty of cover around the building for operatives to watch the rounds of the guards, the way the cameras swivel, and get a feeling for what kind of people enter and exit the building. Surveillance can be conducted the old-fashioned way, by just watching the building from many different angles and sharing observations by camera. They can also be done in a variety of other ways, depending on individual powers and abilities - want to pretend to be making a delivery so you can scope out the front desk? take photos or videos of rounds or entrances and exits to study? draw a rough map of the grounds to show everybody? Go for it!
There are a variety of ways to get into the building, but surveillance will boil down to four main routes of entry:
⇝ The first is a direct frontal entry, where characters may bluff their way inside the building in a variety of ways including pretending to make a delivery, taking down a single guard and stealing their uniform, or otherwise working out a ruse to get inside.
⇝ The second is a through a single bulletproof glass skylight in the roof of the building, directly above the mess hall, which should be empty just after lunch time. There is a strong lock on the skylight, but it can be picked and there are no traps.
⇝ The third is through the back entrance, near where the guards' staff room is, in a secondary building. This route will require taking out several guards as silently as possible and entering disguised as guards.
⇝ The fourth is through a ventilation system that can be accessed by a panel high up on the wall at the one side of the building that is facing the jungle. This one will require some acrobatic skill and flexibility and might be best for a small character.
There are four major routes of entry into the lab, and characters who try any route of entry should keep in contact with people outside via radio or network to relay information found out during the infiltration phase. The rebels are trying to get as much information about the internal layout of the lab as possible in case the Sylphid opt to reuse it for another purpose in the future. They would ideally like to be able to map the entire internal structure of the facility. In all cases, photos, videos, and sketches of the inside of the lab would be welcome to the rebels.
⇝ Frontal Entry: Characters who opt to enter through the front via some kind of ruse and who gain entry will find themselves faced with a maze of corridors and rooms. This may be difficult because anyone who is allowed entry into the building generally knows their way around. Success of this particular route of entry will depend on confidence and being able to keep the ruse alive as the characters run into various different people - scientists, guards, deliverypersons, janitorial staff, and other staff. Keep the ruse up for as long as possible and make sure you get as many details of the inside of the building as possible to relay to your colleagues outside as possible.
⇝ Skylight Entry: Characters who opt to enter through the skylight will find themselves faced with a heavy lock as their first obstacle. The lock is able to be picked or hacked, depending on the characters' skillset. Once the skylight is open they will have to lower themselves into the room underneath, a mess hall for the staff in the lab, and subdue the cafeteria workers. From this point, they will need to keep themselves hidden from passers-by in the hallways, and rely on stealth and silence as much as possible while mapping out the inside of the lab, and keep in radio or network contact with those on the outside.
⇝ Back Entry: This is the method of entry that requires the most fighting. Characters will enter the back area of the building where there is a smaller outbuilding that is used by the guards for a sort of staff room while they are taking breaks, and subdue several guards to take their uniforms. After the uniforms and keycards for the building are secured, they can enter through the back door and maintain the ruse of being guards that are patrolling the building. This is where knowledge of the guard rounds comes in handy, and all that surveillance will certainly help. These characters will have to be careful to avoid the real guards as they will be able to clock that they aren't their coworkers and the "I'm new" story will only work so many times! Characters in guard uniforms will have an easier time communicating out loud on radios and the network as they're expected to be communicating by radio, and will also be able to give spare walkie-talkies to those on the outside.
⇝ Ventilation Entry: This is the most physically challenging method of entry, but a very valuable one. After accessing the ventilation system, characters will be able to crawl through the duct work in a virtually undetectable way and take photos, videos, or sketches of the rooms they can view through vents. The duct work goes everywhere throughout the building and mostly poses obstacles in the form of the mazelike system of them, occasional fans and other blockages in the ductwork, and dust and debris in the ducts including possibly rats and spiders. Some of the spiders are poisonous, as jungle spiders tend to be, and anyone bitten by the spiders will experience pain and hallucinations that may hinder them. As with all other entry methods, the people in the ventilation system should be communicating with those on the outside by radio or network.
Phase III is more straightforward than the other phases of this mission - once the infiltrators have mapped out the inside of the lab, they should locate the central computer banks and anyone with the technical expertise should make a copy of the databanks. This will require some hacking and all characters doing infiltration will be provided with a device that will allow them to hack through any passcodes required by the computer to access the information inside. Copying the database will take at least a half hour, so characters may have to create diversions, talk themselves out of hot water when people come to stop by the computer room, and otherwise distract the true staff of the building from entering the room and catching them in the act.
Once the computer banks have been copied, characters should use another device they will be given before infiltration to plant a virus in the computer banks that will corrupt everything in them. The virus will take about 10 minutes to get to the point of critical mass, a guaranteed disruption of the whole system. This phase of the mission will take at least 40 minutes total, during which characters are going to have to keep any of the real staff of the lab out of the computer room through whatever means possible, making it the point in the mission most likely to go off the rails.
After the computer system has been disrupted by the virus, characters will have to escape the building without being caught by the Sylphid staff, and may leave through any exit available so they can melt into the forest and make a clean escape.
Characters infiltrating the lab will discover several rooms where sentient test subjects are located. Some of them will be in very ill health due to side effects of the treatments they've been enduring, and all will be very willing and eager to be rescued. While some characters stay with the computer banks to copy and sabotage them, other characters may go find these rooms full of test subjects, about 45 in total, and smuggle them out of the building. Once the rebel force has been alerted to the presence of test subjects, they will send a truck to wait near the back entrance, and operatives will simply have to cut the chain link fence to make space for the subjects to get into the truck to be transported back to the Witches Camp. This mission will likely involve having to subdue several guards as the back entrance is near the guards' room.
Mission B: Disrupt The Supply Chain
Mission Appropriateness: Chipped or Stripped
Mission Focus: Recon and open battle.
This mission will focus on open battle and guerilla tactics, with operatives locating and disrupting the supply chain to the lab. It will focus on identifying shipments of equipment, food, and other supplies to the lab and interrupting them, destroying the vehicles, subduing the enemy, and taking whatever supplies they can back to the Witches Camp.
The highway leading past the lab is a seldom-used four-lane highway that snakes its way through the jungle in a mostly uninhabited area. While there are a few scattered farms and other occupied areas, most of the highway is bordered on by wild jungle, which provides a lot of cover for surveillance of the delivery vehicles that approach the lab to drop off supplies. Most of the trucks will contain food, equipment, and other sundries for the function of the lab. The trucks can be wheeled or hover, and will have various brand names emblazoned on them. Characters tasked with surveillance in these areas will settle at safe and well-hidden spots in the jungle to watch the roads and keep detailed notes on which trucks with which brand names enter the lab to deliver supplies. They will also need to keep in close contact with home base to relay this information, with notes on the times the deliveries happen and what sort of supplies may be being delivered, based on the logos on the trucks.
Characters will discover that there are actually several routes delivery trucks are taking to get to the lab, contrary to previous intel-gathering, which pointed to the quickest and most obvious route being the one the trucks used. Some trucks are taking side streets through a nearby occupied area, at the center of which is a rather skeezy truck stop where drivers stop for food before completing their deliveries. Characters will need to spread out to cover these additional routes in order to make sure they don't miss any delivery trucks.
Additionally, the truck stop may become a good source of intel, with staff being amenable through convincing, coercion, or bribing to give information on the drivers that stop in on a regular basis, what they haul, and what their timetables are like. Players are more than welcome to NPC some of the staff at the truck stop for mild interrogation, including waitresses, cashiers, station attendants, and janitorial staff.
As Mission A moves into its final phase, and much more likely to be discovered, phase II of Mission B will go into full effect. Operatives will have discovered four routes that trucks are taking into the lab, and will need to cover all of them for both surveillance and to blockade them or sabotage them and stop the trucks.
⇝ Route 1: The main and quickest route that trucks are taking to the lab, which is directly down the highway and off of it into the lab driveway. This will be the toughest one to blockade due to the size of the highway - four lanes, though seldom used, is quite a distance to cover.
⇝ Route 2: A winding side road that goes over a small creek and then beside it, only two lanes across and through a mostly uninhabited area. Because it's uninhabited and a smaller road with less traffic, it will be easier to blockade and is also the second most used route by the trucks.
⇝ Route 3: A relatively direct route from the truck stop through some back streets that straightforwardly traverse farmland. There is more traffic on this road that is civilian because of its proximity to farmland, and will require a bit more effort due to this civilian traffic.
⇝ Route 4: Another straightforward route, though this time through a civilian-occupied area, and close to a school for the small community surrounding the truck stop. This will be the most difficult to blockade without doing too much collateral damage to the civilian area around it and the school.
Characters will have been given bombs that they may use to destroy the roads themselves as well as access to heavy machinery they can use to move cement blocks into the roadways to block traffic from getting through. Once the roads are blocked or destroyed, characters will have to subdue the Sylphid staff on the trucks through force, which might be a significant fight, as all Sylphid, even down to truck drivers, are well-trained in combat. These drivers are also well-armed, considering the mission they're on to supply the lab, which is one of the top priorities for the Sylphid as of now.
Phase III is relatively straightforward compared to the rest of the missions - unload the trucks and carry the supplies back to the Witches Camp via truck or hover-ATV, then destroy the trucks. This will mostly be through demolitions or by setting the trucks on fire, leaving them as a signal to the Sylphid that they can't go about their research without being challenged.
Characters may disable the trucks in whatever fashion they wish, so long as it leaves a good, lasting message to the Sylphid. The Sylphid drivers that aren't killed should be captured and bound and loaded into a truck to be taken back to the Witches Camp to be interrogated or used as bargaining chips for the more diplomatic side of the rebellion.
Damage to civilian property or injury of civilians, especially children who may be playing at the playground by the school would be seriously looked down on and a huge blow to the rebellion's reputation, so characters are encouraged to keep destruction to a minimum on Route 4 in particular. In fact, the rebellion would prefer if operatives could load the trucks onto heavy machinery and take them to the Witches Camp for demolition instead of leaving them on Route 4.
Additionally, operatives along the routes will find that some of the trucks contain caged and restrained test subjects. Once these are discovered, they should be taken by truck back to the Witches Camp. Unfortunately, these test subjects can't be returned to their families in Zephyr because their chips would immediately mark them for death - the Sylphid would, without thinking twice, kill people that were marked as test subjects who escaped, especially after being rescued by the rebellion, in case they were corrupted by the rebellion. These test subjects will have to be comforted and brought back to the Camp to either join the rebellion or be civilians in the Camp.

Link | Mission B
Link doesn’t exactly look particularly mission-ready, as he darts light-footed across the highway of Route 1. He’s wearing a green hoodie and a pair of checkered pajama pants, and on his back he’s carrying - of all things - a broom and a round trash can lid.
Apparently, a proper arsenal isn’t something Link’s managed to pull together just yet.
Thankfully however, he doesn’t need a decent weapon to deal with the current problem. Instead he taps at the Sheikah Slate at his hip, summoning forth out of nowhere a glowing blue cube, which he sets down on top of the road.
Then he takes a good few steps away from the cube. Once he’s far enough away from it, he taps at the Slate again.
The cube goes BOOM!
B: Phase III
Link is somewhat oddly invested in seeing what’s in the trucks.
He goes through the various crates and boxes, opening each of them up so he can brazenly ruffle through all of their contents. Occasionally he pulls out of some of the objects - a microscope, a test tube, a centrifuge. In the vast majority of cases he has no idea what even holding. But he still stares at the items intently, as if looking at them hard enough might reveal all their secrets.
When he finds food, however - fresh, unpackaged food - he perks up a little. And then he pulls it towards the Slate hanging at his hip, and it just…disappears. One moment there - the next moment, gone.

Alder | A & B (support - radio comms)
( After seeing off those she knew and watching the rest leave for the first mission, Sarah moves to observe from a part of the command center. More interested in keeping tabs and offering support, but also providing any intel she could to those who may want it.
There were others doing so as well, with different skillsets. Some with mapping and visual, some with proper military speech and coordination. She was better at the latter in person, and would be joining for Mission B, but until then, sought to be as involved and helpful as possible.
Though those who were stripped were allowed on either mission - as both were reportedly in more neutral areas - after studying the reported effects of removing the chip, Alder was unwilling to risk sabotaging the stealth and recon. After all, saving those inside seemed the most important objective, other than sabotaging the facility overall and preventing more experimental subjects. Besides, open conflict and confrontation, ambushing, and disruption were where her skills leaned.
Admittedly, she was used to "radio communication" being a sort of telepathic bond between officers in the field and command at Fort Salem (called Far Speech), and they spoke in brief sentences and naturally, without particular code or radio etiquette. This may be comforting and simpler to some who reach out to her channel, and perplexing and less helpful to others.
But there were other "dispatchers", and she would only be here through the first couple phases before moving out to disrupt the supply chain. A part of her was willing to admit, at least to herself, that finding an excuse to observe how the witches and resistance here operated and insert herself in the middle of things were definitely influencing factors. Also because she could only use her own Far Speech with stripped characters that possessed some kind of telepathy. )
This is Sarah Alder, signing onto channel three. I'm here when you need me. Goddess guide you all.

Mikumo Guynemer | Macross Delta | A + B
(i. phase i)
[Even compared to what else has happened since Mikumo has arrived, this feels eminently up her usual alley. She wishes she had access to something like her bugging robots from back home - literal bug-shaped bots she could leave in important areas to gather information - but she hadn't had them on her when she arrived, and she doubts they wouldn't have been taken off her even if she did.
So for now, it's the old fashioned way, which means manually moving around the vantage points surrounding the laboratory to photograph and film what's going on. While her inbuilt skills have been dampened down to something in the range of a regular human, that's still good enough to get where she wants to be, and she'll remain silently observing in the branches of trees for quite significant lengths of time until either someone lands on the same vantage point as her, or she moves down out of the tree and happens to spot another rebellion member on the way down.]
This part of the facility should be well covered by now, I was up there for quite a while. Which area did you come from? [She assumes they must be building up a decent network of information by now, but it can't hurt to cross-reference what makes it onto the network against the people who have covered certain areas for potential extra details.]
(ii. phase ii [network])
[Getting into the ventilation system isn't exactly easy, but Mikumo isn't particularly large and is still plenty flexible enough to get into a space like that. Not having access to her usual disguise tech means this is preferable to disguising as a guard, since while she has managed to tame her hair under a wrap, there's no guarantee that hair wraps are particularly common among guards in the facility. She might have to get hold of a wig before the next one of these missions.
Either way, as she crawls through the vents, photos of various rooms of the facility from above begin to come up on the intranet, sequential images from one room to the next, sometimes with a quick additional drawing or notes if it's difficult to get the full scope of the room in a photo. Some of them even have members of the rebellion who are infiltrating the facility in disguise visible in them, and after she starts noticing more people getting in, she sends out a text along with the images.]
If you see yourself in the most recent few images at all, you're welcome to message me to scout ahead on your route for you.
(iii. phase iii)
[As soon as the mapping is complete enough for people to reach the computer banks, Mikumo departs the vents into that room, entirely prepared to take point on copying the data. While she knows there's a decent number of people here who should have computer experience, she thinks this might be a little ahead of where some people have come from, so best to be sure.
Either way, it's not straightforward work when they keep getting interrupted by people stopping by the rooms for one reason or another, and as the sound of people coming down the outside hallway picks up again for the third time in what can't be more than ten minutes, Mikumo gives a quiet sigh and glances to the person next to her.]
I can go talk them back the way they came, but if you have a better idea for a diversion, I'll work with it. I'd rather be here if something else needs to be run.

[b: mission b]
(i. phase iii - rescuing test subjects)
[Once the lab escape is done, Mikumo figures she may as well hook up with the tail end of the other mission, because another driver can't hurt considering how many vehicles they're probably going to need to be moving. But the movement of supplies comes first, and while Mikumo figures there are people better poised to do the heavy lifting part, she slips into the forces moving items between the trucks and starts moving ahead to check the contents of the ones that haven't been opened yet, just to ensure nobody's left a nasty surprise. She can't imagine this is the first time the rebellion has attacked a convoy, so it's not beyond expectations.
The nasty surprise she gets isn't the type she was thinking, though, and after opening the doors of one truck, she visibly pauses. While she's not heavily emotive about negative things a lot of the time, a subdued sort of disgust and what might even be anger crosses her face before she gestures to the nearest person who looks like they might be able to help out.]
We need to get these people out of their cages and onto another truck. The quicker the better.
(ii. phase iii - the ride home)
[Once supplies and people have been moved where they need to be, Mikumo takes the wheel of a loaded-up ATV, since she's more familiar with this type of vehicle than the trucks. While she keeps an eye on the departing vehicles, she's also keeping an eye out for anyone who looks like they don't have a ride back to the camp yet, because the last thing they need is anyone getting left behind who can't then find their way back.
If someone approaches her or catches her eye, she'll nod to the free seat in the ATV.]
If you're not planning to drive back yourself, then you may as well ride with me.

Obi-Wan Kenobi | Star Wars | Mission A with a smidge of Mission B
[ooc: I am going to be trying to hit up other TLs for characters who are on Mission A, Phase I rather than adding to this TL. BUT if anyone has an idea
want's to hiss at Ben that he's about to walk right into a nest of guardsplease feel free to hit me up here!He will be doing his best to coordinate with folks, but oopsies happen??]
Mission A - Phase II
After a considerable amount of time spent staking out all four sides of the building -and my didn't this building scream 'bad stuff here'- Obi-Wan determined that his best point of entrance was going to be through the back. A fact he would belatedly remember to share across the network to anyone who might be listening on the comms.
"This is Ben," his voice is a whisper but somehow still carries. "I am going to make an entrance through the back. I won't kill, but will attempt to ensure that any guards I incapacitate will be down for at least the next couple of hours." He may sound confident in this; he's really just hopeful.
When he reaches a good staging area to make for the smaller building, he will pause and wait, either for anyone who responded to him, or to see if anyone else has had the same idea. Better to work as a team if at all possible!
Mission A - Phase III
Could he figure out the tech if he had to? Probably. Does he have to? No. Which is why he's going to leave that part of the mission to the people who are a lot more fluent in all things computer.
If and when there is a divvying up of who is best suited to be where, Ben will speak up.
"I can help provide distractions from this lab, but I want to prioritize the release of some of the captives if we can." He won't conscript anyone to come assist him with that last bit, but there may be a hopeful look in his eyes that suggests, more hands make for lighter work?
Mission B - Phase lazy
Ben had not gone out with the group on the supply chain raid. He didn't have his lightsaber, he didn't have access to the Force, and the truth was ... he was still tired of outright fighting. Something he'd need to meditate on; his meditation list was turning into a kreking novel.
However, he could be on comms providing moral support! Or what passed for moral support. Either way, Ben was on comms with a mug of tea in at his right hand.
How goes the destruction efforts? He deliberately keeps his tone calm, light and matter of fact. He found that sometimes that helps when people are in the middle of absolute chaos. Are there any issues with egress routes? Can we help advise resources in your direction?
He heard whispers of more captives, more sentient beings in need of rescue. It seems as if the teams should have all the people, equipment they need, but it never hurts to ask.
Wildcard: [ooc: Have something you want to do/try/engage on that doesn't fit in one of these prompts? Please, feel free to just throw it at me!]

Juhani | Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
She's not a technical person, in any way. She is of precious little use for that particular sort of infiltration. But what she can do is stand by to provide a distraction.
Step one, remain in radio contact with the infiltrating members. Step two, obtain from the rebels a bag of small devices that go boom but in a very loud way. Step three, when called upon, head into the terrain around the facility whenever people need that time to upload the virus and begin to play merry hell with drawing attention away.
And if anybody needs a rearguard for extracting test subjects...that will gain her passionate support.
Mission B - Phase I
Surveillance isn't her favourite task in the world, but she does so diligently from a post high in a tree. Her retractable claws make short work of getting up there, even if she didn't have the Force to aid her. Her ability to blend in through the Force helps there, too. One could pull up onto the same branch when she's fully hidden and not know she's there, barring their own powers of perception...
Phase II
She takes hold of a stick, drawing in the dirt.
"We do not need to destroy entire convoys, or even cause collateral damage for most of the locations."
It's a trick Revan, a master tactician, had taught her, one she's eager to share.
"See, here - disable the vehicle at the front of the column and the rear - they predictably travel in groups so in narrow terrain, we can tie up the entire road with just simple caltrops or single, well aimed strikes. Then we can focus our force on the larger roads while our opponent wastes time extracting disabled vehicles to free up the others."
She paused, tapping the stick in thought.
"And if the trucks are stationary - if we draw the enemy away into the surrounding bush, we can simply take what we want, surely?"
Phase III
"We are with the Rebellion, we are here to help."
So she begins with the civilians, pointing them towards safe spots out of the line of fire, asking them to voluntarily evacuate in case of Slyphid counterattack. Many comply, others don't, looking at her, a strange outsider, with considerable suspicion. The children being moved is, of course, top priority. She looks down as one, a little girl, gently pulls at the leg of her pants.
"What are you?" the child asks. Juhani chuckles, a small smile coming to her face, crouching down.
"I am a Jedi Knight. A defender of the innocent. But I am a Cathar, by species. We're pretty much like you. Just a bit furrier, neh?"
She held out a hand, open and palm down. "Go ahead, feel. Just a bit furrier."
-
Later on, of course, when the time comes to fight, the vibrosword she got from the rebels is held ready in her hand, her shield bubble ready to be placed around anyone in danger or in need of support. Everywhere the battle seems to be in danger of going poorly, there she will be found - moving from one trouble spot to the next.
And, when the chance comes, lancing forward into the Slyphid ranks with all the power and speed of a Jedi of the Old Republic - leaping high into the air before slamming down into their midst, spinning a low kick out to trip those around her before the blade lashes out, cutting the barrel of a Slyphid gun in half.
"Surrender, or I will be your doom!"

Marcus Wright II Terminator Salvation: Final Battle [Mission B, I, II, III]
Marcus had spent the time around HQ, not wondering what to do but making his own homemade weapons to take along for the ride after Kyle Reese as a teenager had spent time with him showing him how to make them and the supplies needed to make them.
After Marcus finished the weapons, He packed them near him in a small bag. Looking towards the rebels offering him a sword or gun, he’d take what he could get so far.
He had a bag of “homemade” explosives on his back and a gun with him.
He had a limited amount, so he had to make them count.
Keeping down, he watched a truck path follow a certain order with different labels representing different shops and they stopped, he moved toward the back, hitching a ride on a truck quietly.
The truck stop is small but could be a useful source of info needed
As one of the trucks stopped, Marcus quietly slipped off the ride and caught the truck driver and held him up at gunpoint “If you don’t want to get hurt, I need something from you. “Just maybe those past criminal skills might come in handy here.
The man seemed like the brutal type like Marcus but as they hopped out, armed, the terminator was able to pull the weapon right from under the man’s hands leaving the man no choice but to fight knuckle to gun or give up valuable info or die.
The man tried to run but the terminator was already subduing the truck driver and grabbed him. The truck driver looked around nervously “There’s four routes, we are headin’ to the lab. All you gotta do is take one of those routes.
Marcus shook him “WHAT routes?”
The truck driver pointed “That way.”
Certain bombs were given to Marcus to block off a certain path the truck driver had somewhat sputtered out.
Setting the C4 was another thing as the trucks moved in a certain pattern.
The cyborg kept down low and set the homemade C4 in certain areas, letting the bombs do its work.
III: Busting Prisoners out of the Cages
This feels familiar like he was going on a prisoner rescue mission for this Resistance instead of Connor. He bit his lip as he gritted his teeth watching the poor test subjects be subjected to experiments that would harm them as much as Skynet made terminators out of people instead.
It made him sick to remember his own body that was cut up and experimented on a long time ago since he sold his body to science.
He felt bad for the prisoners subjected to the same fates as he once did, except turned to Sypids instead.
Marcus used his double strength to rip the door off some of the trucks that contained prisoners restrained and cut the bonds holding them to tables or elsewhere.
The prisoners cheered as they were freed and ran for their lives after Marcus convinced them it was safe to go back to the Resistance camp but not home.

Rokuro Unno | Mission B
What good is a one-eyed man from the feudal era during a high-tech surveillance mission? For better or worse, Rokuro is about to find out.
While Rokuro doesn't grasp the complete concept of chips, serums, or even laboratories, when the spread of the Sylphid is described as a plague, one that might be cultivated and intentionally spread to wipe out the remaining 'free' population, he understands enough to know he must fight.
These people may not be his people, but they are people all the same, and he would rather go in blind than watch as they fall to the ungodly tactics of another enemy.
Stripped of his chip, he is more than capable of protecting those better educated in science and technology as they spy on the enemy convoy, and is well-versed enough in stealth and observation to be the eye(s) of someone who knows what they're looking for.
ii.
Rokuro is far more comfortable with the second phase of the mission. Although stopping trucks isn't exactly the same as armored horses and war caravans, creating barriers, distractions, and obstacles is well within his wheelhouse.
That one of the convoys passes directly over running water is auspicious, and so that's the route Rokuro will first take. Concealing himself beneath the bridge as he listens for the approach of the trucks.
From there, he can lift the water to create a near-impenetrable wall spanning the width of the bridge. Anything that tries to breach the water will find themselves caught in its current, and while a strong swimmer may be able to break the surface and find their way back to safe ground, the weak will drown almost immediately.
Rokuro can't hold the water forever, but there's ample opportunity for rebel commandos to take advantage of the blockade and strike the trucks from behind. Whether he runs out of steam (har har) and faints, or sees a Comrade in trouble, Rokuro will eventually drop the water.
Either way, he's going to be pissed at anyone who dares distracts him. Even if it's to point out the blood dripping from his nose or ogle the strange glowing orb that is his right eye.
iii.
Rokuro is going to be fairly exhausted when the time comes for a full-frontal assault, but he isn't the type to give up easily, especially after having his powers taken for what felt like far too long. He has something to prove to himself as much as anyone else, and needs to make up for what was a truly 'shameful' display upon escape from the Sylphid.
He doesn't know how these vehicles work, or the most efficient way to stop them, but he's ready and willing to throw them over with water, drown the engines, and 'pop' the brains and hearts of drivers as necessary. As a glass (water) canon, he is far more dangerous when directed by someone who knows how to utilize his abilities, and honestly enjoys being told what to do.
(Left these very flexible/open so you can bop in at whatever point you wanted with a few different prompt opportunities for every phase, but if you'd like a specific starter just shoot me a DM!)

mission b phase iii
Heero | Mission A (I and II to start)
[Heero, by some small mercy, isn't actually still wearing the gray prisoner garb they'd put them all in. He'd actually been content to stay in them, but had, mercifully, been persuaded that they marked him as an escapee far too readily. Luckily, or not, shorts and tank tops are fairly universal so soon he's back in clothing he's familiar with.
Just like he's back to work he's familiar with. Surveillance is a familiar job, even if not his particular specialty and he goes about it as seriously as he goes about everything in life. Sticking to the trees and shadows he does an initial inspection of the location.
His network device ultimately gets left at a convenient vantage point to record the back entrance. Heero leaves it there to record while he checks out the other options. After some time has passed, he returns and retrieves his device. Then it's just a matter of melting back into the shadows to skim through the footage. Checking to see what news it reveals about the comings, goings, and other activities present at this location.
The back definitely seems the most viable option for his particular skillset. It's only then that he decides to break his comm silence.]
PHASE II
Yuy here.
[It's good to remind himself that this isn't a solo-operation. Instead of potentially bungling someone else's plan. Too many people doing different things at once could spell a disaster pretty quickly.]
I've found a pattern in their deployment. It'll be simple to take out a guard deployment and use their passes to gain further access to the structure.
[Talking out the steps of a mission feels strange. Definitely not something he's used to doing. But he's trying. Because it's not like he can take over a patrol route by himself, there's no unit of one sadly.]
Requesting assistance. Will be on stand by at [Location].
[Ew. Asking for help. Gross.]

Marc Spector/Steven Grant | Mission A
This is pretty normal. Maybe less of the sitting in a tree, but definitely the watching through binoculars (really fancy space-age binoculars), counting guards, considering points of egress.
It's a little less normal doing it with a whole team at his back, though. He slides down from his perch to meet the person replacing him. "Didn't happen to bring any sandwiches, didja?" he asks with a quirk of a smile, dusting bark off his pants before offering the binoculars over.
Phase II - Front entrance
Steven has been very gung-ho about this magic thing. Marc is less so, but he can see some useful applications when Steven casts something called "disguise self" on the body and the glance in the little folding mirror he keeps in his pocket these days shows a completely different face. The one from the guard he took out in town, in fact.
He turns to his partner. The two of them are planning on walking in the front, like they actually belong, and the illusion and the guard uniforms will help. "I can do one for you, too, if you like," Steven says, doing his very best to sound American, to sound like Marc. It... does not pass very well, but he tries.
Phase II - Inside
Time for some exploring. Marc has walked more labyrinthine buildings in the past than this one, though admittedly most of them were a lot older than this one, and made of stone or wood more than cement. He prowls through the halls, now minus his magical disguise and wearing a loose janitor's uniform on top of the guard uniform, pushing a cart with a mop and a bucket, which he uses whenever someone gets too close.
Good way to map out where he's been, after all: it's where the cleanest floors are.
Phase III - Diversion
Because Marc is not really super tech-savvy-- that was more Layla's job-- he has stationed himself outside the computer room with his bucket and mop. "Nope, hey, sorry, can't go in there," he says in his thickest imitation of the local low-class accent, chomping on some gum. He is a lot better at accents than Steven. "Some idjit spilled their punch all over the floor inside. We're cleanin'."
It might not keep everyone out, but it makes him loud enough to warn whoever is in there to hide or get ready to fight.
Additional Mission
This is definitely more up Marc's alley than dealing with computers. Getting some hostages out is very much a thing he can do. "Right, you three, behind us," he says, pulling his gun from behind the bucket, and the other from the holster in the small of his back. He's already put the janitor uniform aside, revealing the guard uniform again. "We're escorting you to transport outside to another facility, if anybody asks."
He offers the second gun to his current partner. "And if they don't believe that, that's what the guns are for."

James T Kirk | Mission A
[It didn't take much to subdue the guards on break, only a few well-placed wallops to the back of their heads. After changing into their uniforms and grabbing anything else that looks like it might be useful such as their radios, security cards or weapons (and maybe their chewing gum), Jim fixes his hat before preparing to re-open the door to the outbuilding so they can proceed to the building proper.]
You ready? It'll be fine- we only need to look like we know what we're doing.
PHASE III - Computer Banks
A: [They finally make it to the room where most of the database is controlled and Jim gets to work on one of the computers, typing away as he begins to navigate their systems.]
Do you have any experience with this kinda thing?
[If they do then they can make it more efficient by figuring it out and then copying different parts of the directory and working towards one another. If not? Well, they likely need distractions if anyone happens to stop by.]
B: [The copies have been made, now it's time to nuke the whole system. Connecting their own device into the main computer, it brings up a series of prompts on screen.]
"Would you like to initiate program?" [Click.] Yes please.
[Now they wait, until the point where it is guaranteed to begin spitting out errors as their systems fry, and techs or guards are called in to investigate.]
So, do we try talking our way out if anyone comes in? Just knock them out? Or try overriding the locking mechanism so they can't get in, in the first place?
Comms:
[Feel free to check in on progress, relay information, or anything else! Either through the general network or the walkie talkies they stole from guards.]

Agent 8 | Mission A
[For the first part, Eight stuck to the shadows of the forest. Back in the Witches' Camp she had shifted her color to match the foliage as she remembered it from the escape, and felt the most comfortable sticking to the edges of the wood. Her attention was drawn to both the compound but also the wood itself. Infiltration was equal part observation and caution, hunting for ambushes and possible escape routes.]
[Reasonably convinced that the least observed route was the ventilation system and that the jungle was not patrolled, she made her way back to the rendezvous point.] Eight here. Compound observed. Moderate guard. Strange beasts assisting. Least observed point ventilation system. Commencing operation by breaking wind.
IIa. Scientific Malpractice
[Eight was truly in her element. The dark confines and humming of the ventilation system was a strange comfort. She didn't mind the labyrinthine and confusing network of metal and switchbacks to avoid the rotating fans -- it was all a part of the charm. Besides, she was making her way one way or another.]
[As she reaches the vents, she takes a moment to snap pictures and report what she's seeing:] Experimental lab. Computer systems. Open hallways. Patrols.
[One turn however, seized the ink inside her veins and turned it cold.]...my cod... ...there are test subjects. They look... [...like Viktor. She swallows hard.] ...we need to get them out of here.
IIb. Itsy Bitsy
[Not everything about the vents is sunshine and rainbows. The rats were smart enough to run away, but the spiders were territorial bastards. For a mercy, she had a solution. With the sight of one, Eight used her power to drew out a small portion of ink from a container on her back with her fingers. Twirling her fingers, the ink spins into the air into a small spike of forest green. A flick of the wrist later and the spider is snatched from its web and writhing underneath the ink bullet.]
Careful. [She whispers.] Their numbers are increasing...
IIIa Bonus. History Repeats
[As soon as Eight saw the infiltration unit make for the computers, Eight broke down one of the ventilation grates and made a beeline for the cells. She had faith that they could get the job done, but she wasn't... no, she couldn't leave these people to suffer any more.]
It's okay. You're going to be okay. Help is on it's way. [She works to pick the lock to the nearest cell. As she feels her emotions begin to pitch as she feels the tumblers reset. Damnit. Damnit..! YES!] You, stay by the door. When you see someone make their way out, follow them.
[She then got on the comm.] Eight here. I've released three of the people who were confined. One looks hurt really bad. I require an escort in [location] to see these three to safety. [She whispers to herself audible enough for it to be heard.] As many as it takes... as many as it takes... these ones have a chance... they still have a chance...
IIIb Bonus. Inevitability
[As the mission continued she was becoming more frantic. This made each consecutive attempt sloppier until she couldn't keep her hands from holding the lock picks straight. Worse, the experiments had caused them to be a uncomfortably morose. This current one in particular contained a young woman, with quiet, dim eyes staring at Eight's efforts in solemn silence.]
[Failing to keep her feelings in check, Eight had resorted to using anything hard against the lock. Metal objects. A chair. But nothing was giving. This one... this one seems like it was beyond her ability.] I won't. I can't... I won't... [Worse still, she knew that the mission was nearing it's completion point. She knew it was only a matter of time before the Sylphid staff would sweep the area. She was running out of time.]
[The girl frowned and raised her hand to the door. Eight looked on. She needed to escape. She would get caught. But... how could she...?]
IIIb Bonus. - Last in First up? If anything here doesn't work, let me know and I will edit
it's perfect o7

Kylo Ren | Mission B
A week ago, Kylo was the Supreme Leader of the most powerful faction in the galaxy. Now, he's crouched behind a bush, waiting to see whether trucks go by. That's a rude transition at best, though not as difficult as the lack of his powers, even if that still being the case was his own choice. He could get them back if he wanted, but he'd chosen to wait to see whether the supposed advantage of keeping the chip might be worthwhile. So far, it has not been.
As if to prove the point, a sound startles him. A footfall snapping a twig on the ground, far too close for him to have not noticed someone. He whips around as he stands, responding to the threat. Fortunately for the person approaching, his immediate instinct is to raise his hand in a way that surely would have come with some kind of violence if he had his powers, but at present, does nothing other than look odd and menacing.
Wildcard-
I'm not doing a real toplevel this time, but if you have an idea you want to play with me, hit me up. He'll be focusing on mission B and doing a lot of sword fighting when it happens, but also struggling a bit because he relies on his Force powers for general awareness more than he thought, oops.

Mission B
Sunstreaker | Mission B, the latest ever but
[He wasn't someone scouting out the truck stop, but as soon as they got the information they needed about the routes the trucks were taking, Sunstreaker was in route to set up one of the blockades. Shifting into one of the ATVs he takes off for the team working on Route 3. It's supposed to be the harder due to traffic. As if that's going to be a problem for him. He can swerve in and out of the traffic like it's nothing if need be.
Shifting into one of the Sylphid trucks and acting like they've "broken down" and in need of help seemed to be one of the easier ways to get their attention after someone had gotten some uniforms at the truck stop. He didn't bother asking how it was done and didn't care as long as the ruse worked.
He just wanted them to hurry up so he didn't to look so hideous for much longer, but the others on his team were the look outs.]
Any sign of them yet?
Phase III
[It was living cargo. Civilians who had been kidnapped and dragged off for who knows what experiments. And maybe that thought had been enough to justify what happened to those truck drivers and then some. But they were getting rid of the truck to leave a message and that meant Sunstreaker had the dubious honor of being the transport for all of the liberated test subjects back to Camp. And they needed to make it look normal, so once again he had to have someone sitting in the driver's seat. Not that he had to like it.]
You can touch the steering wheel, but remember who's driving here.
Don't mind us just squeaking in~
