Who: Mikumo and you!
What: Mini-missions - To the Troop, Operation: Relief and The New Arrivals
When: Throughout the month
Where: Various, depending on the mission
Content Warnings: None as yet.
[a: to the troop]
[As it turns out, though it took a while to figure out what it was, Mikumo's Heba ability is quite adaptable. Being able to make things out of water and control them has a lot of applications if one gets imaginative, and while training with the ability on her own time is useful, actually having chances to think on the spot and apply it to various situations is going to be more helpful in the long run.
Gathering samples from plants that might not necessarily be that keen on cooperating is a fairly low-risk one to begin with, she feels like, and so she makes her way out to the Troop a few times during the month to help with the efforts. Though she's curious about the mushrooms themselves and the general existence of a forest like this, getting the job done is her primary focus, and once she gets into the area, she uncaps one of the containers of water she's wearing on her waist.
Others doing the harvest might catch her guiding a small amount of water into thin, knife-like shards that she shoots through sections of the mushrooms, breaking off pieces without having to get too close. On occasion, she might have more than one water bottle open to form a hand to reach up and scoop away some mushroom flesh - she's more prone to this for the gill samples, as those would require cutting off an entire section of cap to get otherwise. Even if she's not too close, though, the mushrooms aren't fond of the workaround, and she frequently has to jump out of the way of falling mushrooms or suddenly growing ones trying to disrupt her work.]
Incoming! [She at least gives a loud, straightforward warning to others working in the area that the mushrooms are on the hunt again.]

[b: operation relief]
[Mikumo's very much starting to appreciate her experience navigating vehicles through abysmal terrain, considering her experiences working behind enemy lines and on planets with heavy forest or jungle. It means she hasn't yet found terrain here that's not possible for her to run a vehicle through, and when a mission comes up requiring some careful driving, she's all too happy to take it up.
Of course, she needs someone to cover her as well, so she'll wait with the ATV assigned until the rebellion finds someone to ride with her. Or until someone approaches her themselves, at which point she'll push herself off the side of the ATV and head for the driver's seat.]
You're here to shoot, aren't you? [Probably best to confirm that before they go anywhere.]
--
[c: the new arrivals]
[Having additional arrivals this soon is interesting to hear about, and Mikumo wants to see what the setup the Sylphid have with regards to arrivals is like from the breaking in side. She's done stealth missions plenty of times previously, so as far as help on a mission like this goes, she certainly feels like they could do worse. Add to that the other riskier mission option she's been hearing about requiring a bit more willingness to kill people, and she'd much rather put her energy towards this one.
It's possible for others planning to break in to either meet Mikumo outside the facility, checking the security levels and planning which entry route to use, or within the vents later on, mapping out rooms and posting some pictures from her device to help others who might be taking a more obvious route navigate or orient themselves. Either way, she's not averse to taking help in a situation like this, though her question to those she encounters will likely be the same regardless.]

I'm thinkin' sewers might be our best bet. Either that or vents. We're not gonna bluff our way in this time, even if I manage to change our faces. There's not enough time to get a cover story right.
no subject
But for now, regular small cameras work, especially ones she can sync up to her device and check what's going on.]
I'm thinking vents myself, since it's somewhat more straightforward as long as they're large enough to accomodate people. [Besides the obvious reason someone might not want to infiltrate via sewer, they'd still have to find a way into the actual building at the other end, since it's not like they can get in through the plumbing.] But bluffing would certainly be harder this time if they learn anything from prior attacks. It looks like the building is more heavily secured than the information we received implied it was, as well.

[Marc is not a particularly large man, but he is not small, either.]
If we can get far enough under the place, there might be basement access. But it's up to you.
no subject
[She's about average size herself, but she did see at least one person larger than her in the vents the previous time around, so the question is whether this facility has ones of comparable size. There's not a lot of point standing out here asking that question, though.]
If the patterns I've seen from the guards so far are any sign, there should be a vent clear for a few minutes shortly, so we can check properly.
no subject
[He'll go with it. If he doesn't fit, he can go another route, or play distraction.]
Need me to take point?
no subject
If that's what you prefer. I can take either role.
[She'd just got done retrieving the camera she had in this area before she encountered Marc, so she's ready to move whenever. Though while the cover is thick in this area, it's likely they're going to need to do some observation from the treeline once they reach it.]
sorry about the delay! misplaced the notif
How about you go first and I cover you?
[Because she's probably more likely to get closer without being noticed, and he's used to covering the lady half of a break-in anyway.]
no subject
That works. [With that, she moves forward, slipping through the underbrush to the facility perimeter, watching the guard that had been walking down this side move around the corner and disappear. It is, as the mission brief had mentioned, suspiciously low security - only having one guard on the outside covering this large of an area seems almost laughable.
But the inside is the more important part in the end, and they won't know anything about the security situation there until they get in. So she moves forward, staying low to the ground but quick, moving through any sparse cover there might be from the environment and the shape of the building until she reaches the area beneath the vent.]
no subject
He follows a couple steps behind Mikumo, gun out, eyes on their surroundings rather than their destination, letting her lead.]
no subject
For the moment, she reaches up to the vent, initially testing how securely closed it is and how much noise it might make if moved. It's not exactly easy to move, but it's not screwed on, either, so after some coaxing around the edges with her fingers, it starts to come loose.
Turning her head back to see whether Marc has caught up, she speaks once he gets close enough that she doesn't have to go above a murmur.]
I shouldn't have too much trouble getting this back on from the inside, but that means you might have to check if you fit first.
[Even if the vent accomodates him, it's unlikely he'll have as much space to do something like turn around as Mikumo.]
no subject
Maybe I ought to let you sneak around an open a door for me. Or I can clear a door on this side for you to let people out from.
[Because they're not getting prisoners out through the vents. Exit is by necessity going to be a lot louder than entry.]
no subject
It might be more efficient for you to clear an exit route from outside, if that's how you prefer to work. It may take me a while to find a door from the vents to unlock, and it might not be a well-placed one - this way, I can map the inside while you do that, and ideally we can rendezvous at some point so there's both of us to cover them getting out of the facility.
[She doubts they'll be the only ones in there given the specs of this mission, but they should probably assume they're not necessarily getting backup when they need it.]
