Marc Spector + Steven Grant | Moon Knight | OTA

I. Mission A, Phase II - Steven

This is exciting! Steven's first mission where he can use his own skills, instead of Marc's! Also a little terrifying, but he does have Marc. If he needs him. Which he is determined not to do.

He is not great at the hoverboard, though, which is his main source of frustration. Steven's sense of balance is not really great without Khonshu's suit to help, and the way it moves does not feel intuitive at all. If he'd had time to practice maybe he'd have figured it out, but as it is, on their way out along the leyline in the jungle, he's having a hard time keeping the thing from crashing into trees. Marc has the bad taste to sound amused in their head.

(Need a little help there? I'm fine! Leave it alone!)

II. Mission A, Phase III - Marc

Marc, on the other hand, thinks the hoverboard is a lot of fun. Maybe it helped that he'd been paying close attention while Steven fell around with it, but when their cover is blown, he takes over and starts zooming around. It's actually easier than flying with the suit, with more control and less having to rely on wind and fabric.

Of course, he has to learn this while they're being shot at, or trying to be eaten by a giant thorny plant. That part's not fun.

"Think we can make a run for it?" he calls to his partner, doing a pretty good imitation of Steven's accent, but considering the sudden improvement of hoverboard skills, it might be in vain.

III. Mission B, Phase II, cluster C - Steven

Marc had wanted to do the jungle mission, but Steven had no desire to go anywhere near the man-eating plants ever again, so here they are, sneaking up to the rural-but-settled cluster, Steven running over the spell under his breath as they go.

At least he's got a protector. That's nice, right? "I see them," he says, and points at the spire of metal just above the next hill. He can feel them, too, like a pulsing throb behind one eye as he gets closer. Awful. It'll be great to make that go away. "We gotta get closer, though," he adds. "How's it look?"
