"I can understand that, but most people I know who like having things don't keep lists. It's more of an official, work-related thing to do where I come from," she remarks - on one hand, she doesn't sound particularly like she's judging, on the other it's clearly one of those small differences that pops up when you meet people coming from other places.

"Then again, I work with rather a lot of eccentrics back home, so perhaps we're not the best sample of the general population."
