At the very least, Mikumo makes considerable progress in that time - she has to snipe a solo drone and deal with a few disgruntled plants long enough to spray in their areas, but that's not too much of a hold-up in the grand scheme of things. So by the time they meet up again, she's quite a way further down the line - not that it's difficult to track how far she's gotten, with the very visible trail of runes left behind her.

If nothing else, they only really need one person to spray, so his distraction is met more with faint amusement than anything.
