Codi only grins her response to that question - partly because she can't hide how amused she is at being right about Rokuro's familiarity with technology, partly because she is trying to hide how frustrated this stick shift is making her. Process of elimination eventually wins out there, thankfully, and the truck picks up speed as the engine revs at a more comfortable hum.

"There! Gotcha." Codi affectionately pats the trucks dashboard for effect. She doesn't have her electricity-manipulating abilities available to make the truck's electronics 'talk back' to her, like she would've done when she was younger, but that doesn't mean she can't bluff it. "Nothing to worry about. She's a good listener. See?"

To emphasize - and because she's got a fairly good guess of what the next gear up should be - Codi mashes the clutch and shifts, right as the engine starts to protest again. The revs calm, as if on demand, and Codi flashes Rokuro a wide, toothy grin.

"Everything's totally under control."
