It takes Link a little longer to find his own tree. But eventually he manages to find one where it's roots are exposed above the ground, so Link can nestle the bomb between them. There, at least, it won't be at risk of rolling away.

"Yes," Link says, before finding a spot with a good vantage point to sit and wait. Luke might not be fond of waiting, but Link from the way Link's setting in, he's got no problem with it.

In fact that's a good chance that if Luke doesn't strike up more conversation, Link will just happy keep watch and stay silent for hours.
