Tech isn't far off in his assessment. Many lords have multiple 'pages' in their service to help them with dressing, grooming, and basic courtly functions. Rokuro is long past the 'appropriate' age range for his position, but has kept his title nonetheless, and will continue to stay by his Master's side until the day he dies.

"To say you 'tinker' in matters such as these would be to say I 'tinker' with water and tea." Those who craft abacus are considered masters of their trade, and so why wouldn't Tech be a master in his own right?

Rokuro reluctantly parts with the tablet, trading Tech for the binoculars, of which he is much less affectionate. Squinting his left eye and twisting the scope as directed, he attempts to focus in on the branch of roads just outside the laboratory.
