With all eyes on Elma, Link darts around to the side of the guards. Distracted with trying to shield themselves from Elma's barrage, they don't have the chance to try and counter Link until he's right on top of them.

He swings the sword in wide, sweeping arcs, aiming to hit as many of them as possible at once. Thanks to a combination of Elma's bullets and Link's sword, one goes down quick. But the others soon start trying to mount a counterattack.

They spread out, making it harder for Link and Elma to focus their efforts. One ducks behind cover and takes pot-shots at Elma. The other focuses fire on Link, forcing him to stay behind his trash can lid shield rather than press his attack.
