It is a sentient creature. [ Obi-Wan didn't necessarily scold the Doctor for his statement, but he did attempt to raise a point in favor of the animal. Not that he had any idea why the subject of horsemanship was coming up. Obi-Wan just had a soft spot for all creatures. ]

Striving to have a cooperative relationship with another sentient creature is a commendable goal.
