It hurts and soothes all at once, to know his grandfather had been through what he had. Kylo is not often sympathetic, but it's all to easy to imagine the depth of what Vader had felt. Rey had been an intuition, a hope he had been willing to place on brief connections and a feeling. Padmè had been his grandfather's wife, and someone known to be capable as a ruler, and had still made the same choice.

It takes Kylo a moment to speak, and when he does, all he says is, "Have you met Rey?"
