That's good enough for her. Codi pauses a moment to glance around them - see if anyone's eyes have been lingering on them a little too long while they've been conversing at the edge of the street - then diverts with a bright smile flashed in the asset's direction before she beckons him forward.
"Then I'll quit wasting your time," she says, a bashful laugh coloring her voice. "Let's get you those boots."
Codi can tell from his posture alone that this man's going to follow her, so she doesn't hesitate to check if he will. She does, however, continue to keep their path close to the edge of the road, to keep them away from the densest clumps of pedestrian traffic, and while her pace is brisk she never aims to outpace her companion, preferring to keep just ahead and to the side of him so she can comfortably keep him in her periphery. Seeing his reaction to her and the sights they pass is important.
Only a brief pause passes before Codi decides to keep their conversation going. "I don't think I caught your name?" she says, glancing over her shoulder with raised, expectant eyebrows. He's probably the kind of guy who needs an olive branch extended first, though. "My fault for not asking, of course. I'm Codi."
