Rey doesn't have time to figure out how to deal with the mage before Link is descending upon her, sword raised to deliver a blow that she might've tried to merely evade if she weren't also dealing with an evil mage and a multi-headed monster.

She has to deal with the most immediate threat, and though she has no intent to hurt Link, she's also not accustomed to being careful of someone else's sword. She raises her saber to block his blow, its plasma blade emitting its trademark low whirring sound as she braces for impact. It doesn't occur to her that she'll probably just slice it right in half -- she's truly not even used to metal swords. And she's pretty busy yelling a bunch of unfriendly curses in Huttese at the mage woman who's back there cackling to herself in misplaced triumph.
